How to improve the service life of the feed barrel and punch of the die-casting machine?
First of all, the material of the feeding barrel of the die-casting machine should be selected according to the product requirements. (The better the material of the feeding barrel is, the barrel is more durable and the service life will be longer. However, the product temperature is not required or the quantity is not large. Normal material requirements are good, so you can save a lot of costs).
Secondly, check the feeding barrel before use and the tolerance size meets the requirements before installation and use. When installing and disassembling the feeding barrel, do not knock the feeding barrel with hard objects.
Pay attention to the lubrication of the feed barrel and the punch during the production process, so that the wear between the barrel and the punch can be reduced when punching back and forth.
Injection punch (plunger head)
Pay attention to keep the punch cooling water pipe unblocked, pay attention to checking the cooling effect, to prevent the hammer handle from overheating and deforming, and the punch from overheating and jamming.
The hardness of the punch used should be less than the hardness of the feeding barrel to avoid damage to the feeding barrel.
Use special punch lubricating oil or punch lubricating particles, set appropriate lubrication time and interval times.
The hammer handle and punch should be concentric with the barrel.
The hammer handle should adopt appropriate thread tolerance, and be connected to the punch (plunger head) tightly.
Material selection of the injection punch
In practice, most of the punches are made of ductile iron, H13 steel (SKD61), and beryllium bronze.
Punch surface hardness
The surface hardness of the plunger head of the punch is recommended to be HRC45±2 degrees. If the hardness is too high, it is easy to wear the feeding barrel, leading to the early scrapping of the feeding barrel; if the hardness is too low, the punch is easy to wear, reducing the service life of the punch.
The good lubrication of the punch is an important part of prolonging the life of the punch. Therefore, how to select and use the punch lubricant is very important. Currently commonly used lubricants include mineral oil-based graphite and graphite-free punch lubricants, synthetic-based water-soluble lubricants, and waxy granular lubricants.
